Luxurious beach hotels
Set in the Indian Ocean Mauritius is a beautiful island and easily accessible by an overnight flight direct flight from London. It is a melting pot of cultures and ethnicity, with its Creole heritage, its colonial British influence and its French and Dutch history it blends harmoniously with its diverse environment. The volcanic island has lush verdant mountain ranges that cascade from its centre to white sandy beaches with azure waters surrounded by palm trees. Whether it is a family, honeymoon or a couples holiday it has a myriad of luxurious hotels that offer supreme levels of pampering and sincere service.
Whether it is a family, honeymoon or a couples holiday it has a myriad of luxurious hotels that offer supreme levels of pampering and sincere service.
Family friendly - with amazing children’s entertainment, the hotels pride themselves on clubs that children love and cry when they leave. It allows parents the chance to keep their children amused every day as and when they want to be. The staff are friendly and caring and there is always something going on to keep the little ones engaged and having fun whether it be treasure hunting, making pizzas or playing tennis to music there is always fun to be had.
Honeymoons - some hotels are child free and offer incredible honeymoon packages with brides going free. They focus on spoiling the new couple and provide unique experiences, private dining and personal touches.
Relaxation – Unwind on sun soaked beaches where butlers will bring you refreshments of fresh juices and ice creams. Be pampered in exceptional and innovative spas. Unwind with yoga classes on the beach or keep fit with a personal trainer in fully equipped gyms. Regardless pure escapism is guaranteed.
Winter sun – for those looking for winter sun or half terms breaks or an easy, safe, all-inclusive holiday Mauritius is an easy decision with its white sandy beaches and sapphire clear, warm waters.
Golfers are spoilt for choice and we would recommend hotels that have their own courses where green fees are included in the cost of your stay. Constance Prince Maurice has two 18-hole championship golf courses, Le Telfair has a challenging course and is nestled on the 2500 hectares of Domaine de Bel Ombre. Golfers staying at Le Touessrok can enjoy golf on Ile aux Cerfs Island while those staying at The Four Seasons Anahita, will enjoy the course designed by Ernie Els where the final shot is reputed to be among the most spectacular in the world,.
For families, most of the hotels offer a kids club where the children will be cared for by the kind and gentle people of Mauritius, however, not all of the clubs take very young children or are open in the evenings and so it is worth ensuring you get the right one for your personal requirements. Our favourite is the Lux Belle Mare where fun activities and attentive care make every moment enjoyable. For older children the water sports at Le Telfair are exhilarating and likewise at St Gerain they have a fantastic water sports centre and the kids club is at the heart of the resort.
On the flip side, for honeymooners there are some resorts which have a no kid’s policy such as 20 degrees Sud, a privately owned hotel offering 5 star luxury in an intimate and sophisticated setting or Paradise Cove that has excellent honeymoon offers.
The hotels are constantly evolving – each vying for top spot which means there are a number of fabulous hotels to choose from. With our up to date knowledge we help to make that choice easier! Below we have highlighted a few of our favourites.
The Oberoi with its 20 acres of lush, sub-tropical beautiful gardens, the newly and beautifully renovated Le Tousserok, Le Prince Maurice set on a tranquil lagoon and the chic Four Seasons at Anahita. The private villas at Maradiva each have their own plunge pool and the resort is geared towards total relaxation and special attention.
The Shanti Maurice with its cool vibe and barefoot luxury, revels in offering unique touches from The Fish Shack on the beach to The Rum Shed with over 180 types of rum. The Royal Palm is the ultimate all-rounder, recently refurbished it has set a new bench mark in terms of luxury and service.
Amongst our other favourites are the Lux Hotels – this contemporary brand is all about the detail- they have three hotels on the island of Mauritius and all three were chosen in the top 10 on the island - it’s the unique touches that define them. Whether it is watching movies under the stars with homemade ice cream and popcorn, or a bento on your sun lounger or finding a ‘message in a bottle’ which offers daily treats such as a spa treatment or bottle of wine.
